This course is approved by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and is designed to train professionals to take on the role of environmental management system (EMS) auditors and the standards acceptable to 3rd party certification and similar levels. The course is delivered over 5 days and is structured to enable participants to achieve defined learning objectives.
Prerequisite All attendees must be familiar with the text of ISO 14001, either by attending an appropriate course or through completion of pre-course work designed to ensure this understanding.

Professionals intending to work as a 2nd party auditor (auditing suppliers etc) or 3rd party auditor (auditing organisations seeking certification to ISO 14001). Training points will be awarded under the IEMA scheme. Delegates who have successfully completed the course are encouraged to apply for registration on the IEMA About IEMA As this is an IEMA Approved programme, successful participants are encouraged to apply or IEMA registration at the appropriate level through the IEMA Scheme. Institute Of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) was formed in September 1999, following the merger of the Institute of Environmental management, the Environmental Auditor's Registration Association, and Institute of environmental Assessment, the Institute is the leading UK membership organisation dedicated to the promotion of the goal of sustainable development and to the professional development of individuals involved in environmental management and assessment, whether they be in business, government, consultancy or the regulators. IEMA SCHEME There are currently five levels under the present scheme. Environmental auditor levels - Associate Environmental Auditor (10 IEMA points) Environmental Auditor (30 EMA points) Principal Environmental Auditor (50 IEMA points) Environmental management system auditor levels - Environmental Management System Auditor Lead Environmental Management System Auditor Individuals will be ble to register at two of five levels - one from the three environmental auditor levels and one from either of the two environmental management system auditor levels, depending on their level of experience. This will allow individuals to hold ‘dual registration’ - thus publicizing their specialist audit skills more clearly. IEMA POINTS Successful completion of the course and depending on the performance of the course assessment, delegates can gain up to a maximum of 5 training points. This number of training points awarded is as follows: - -
